- Quick Documentation v1.2
-
- The purpose of this documentation is to provide quick answers to common questions
- and/or possible problems:
-
- Editor
- Using the "Folder Tabs" on the side of the information box
- On the left side of the information box (to the right of the "Times" repeating field) you
- will find four "folder tabs" labeled "Basic," "Extra," "Eye&Ear," and "Notes." These
- tabs are used to go to the layout where you can enter additional information regarding
- the current entry. Basic contains the basic information pertaining to an entry, Extra
- contains fields where you can enter information that is a little more detailed,
- Eye&Ear was created to house audio and graphical information about a selection (a
- sound clip or cover art/etc), and Notes is a layout where you can enter notes and/or
- comments about the current selection.
-
- To move from layout to layout, just click on the corresponding "Folder Tab." You can move
- back and forth as often as you wish - and you will always be on the same entry and be able
- to see the tracks, artist and title for the current entry.
-
- Going to a specific record
- To go to a specific record (designated by record number), click on the white-text number
- to the LEFT of the word "of" in the upper section of the red panel right below the direction
- arrows.
-
- Finding all
- To find all records, click on the white-text number to the RIGHT of the word "of" in the upper
- section of the red panel right below the direction arrows.
-
- Lyrics
- To enter lyrics for a specific track/song, open the "Audiofile Lyrics" database (located in the
- "Extras" folder. Click the NEW button and enter the relevant information. Once the lyrics are
- entered, you can simply open Audiofile® and click on the track number that corresponds to the
- track you've entered lyrics for. NOTE: The spelling of the tracks must be identical in both the
- Audiofile Lyrics database and the Audiofile® database. For an excellent example, go to entry
- #14 (Spin Doctors, Turn It Upside Down) and click on any of the track numbers to the left of the
- tracks)!
-
- List Views
- Using the List Views
- From the Editor you can view your collection as a list by clicking on the button labeled "List"
- (found on the red panel at the right side of the editor screen). There are two list formats,
- "Basic," and "Extended." Basic gives you a very basic view and Extended gives you much
- more detailed information in a convienent list format. If you'd like to go to a particular selection
- you see listed, just click on the starburst at the beginning of the selection.
-
- To switch between the Basic list and the Extended list, just click on either phrase (either
- Basic List or Extended List). You can switch between lists any time, all the time.
-
- Searching
- What is the Universal Search?
- Audiofile® has incorporated a unique new searching technique that will allow you to search every
- field for a specific string by just entering text into the Universal Field and clicking "Search."
- The advantage of this is obvious: If you are not sure where a word might be in a selection
- (perhaps it's in the title, or a specific track or a producer, etc), you can just enter the word
- into the Universal Search field and click Search. If the string appears ANYWHERE in your collection
- that entry will be returned as a found selection.
-
- If you'd like to be more specifi in your searches, 8 additional specific search fields can be searched
- as well.
-
- *IMPORTANT NOTE: In order for the search to be performed correctly, you MUST click the circular
- "SEARCH" button at the lower right of the screen after you have entered your search criteria. Follow
- the step numbers at the left of the screen: 1. Enter the search criteria, 2. Click the search button.
-
- Printing
- Layouts, Layouts, Layouts
- 4 print layouts are provided for you. To move from layout to layout, just click the white-text layout
- description at the top of the screen. The layout you are currently in is in red-text. Once you have
- found the layout you'd like to print by, just click the "Print" button at the bottom of the screen and
- you will be taken through a few steps (Page Set-up, Print Dialog, Etc) and then the document will
- be printed. Inventory Status printing is easy - just follow the on-screen directions.
-
- Other?
- If you have any other questions/comments that aren't covered above, please don't hesitate to email
- us at spinfree7@aol.com. We will be more than happy to help you anyway we can.
-
- Registration
-
- NOTE: Audiofile® is a DEMO until registered. Unregistered users are limited
- to only 15 entries. See "Shareware Information" for registration information.
-
- Audiofile® is NOT free. Audiofile® is shareware for $20 (US Dollars only). If you use Audiofile® for
- more than 15 days you are morally obligated to register. This is not meant to sound harsh, it is just that
- without user support, Audiofile® and future projects will not come to fruition.
-
- Registration is easy. From the main menu click the circled question mark and then click on the bottom-most
- button on the right side of the help screen labeled "Register Now." Fill out the form, enclose your payment,
- stuff everything in an envelope and toss it in the mail. Once we receive your registration will will
- IMMEDIATELY notify you, thank you, and provide you will with the elusive Audiofile® password which will
- allow you full access to Audiofile®.
-
- Thank you VERY MUCH for choosing Audiofile®.
